This Sauvignon Blanc is thoroughly refreshing, with aromas of guava, papaya and pear. These enticing characteristics are followed by vibrant citrus notes of grapefruit and lime on the palate, which enhance the wine’s juicy body and highlight its crisp, balanced acidity.
As Leese-Fitch had experienced with the preceding several vintages in California, 2016 saw a mild winter and spring followed by an early bud break. A long and dry growing season allowed for the grapes to ripen evenly, reaching optimal flavor profiles. Predominantly sourced from Lodi, this Sauvignon Blanc was destemmed, crushed, and pressed shortly after harvest. The wine was then fermented and aged in stainless steel, providing a light, crisp body.
"With a decidedly fresh tropical nose of candied pineapple, the palate has the added attraction of lime zest and white flowers to notes of guava and grapefruit. French Colombard is added in (12%) for accents of lanolin and white tea. This one sure over-delivers." – The Tasting Panel, 91pts
